I was not able to make the original payments that I agreed upon so I asked if I could make payment arrangements and they agreed. They sent me a letter with the new arrangements stating that "This payment schedule replaces all previous schedules for this loan" They further stated that when this signed statement is received your new statement will be mailed. The statement was signed and sent the next day, after receiving a bill for the original amount, I contacted them again and was told to disregard any bills until I receive the new agreement bill. After a month I again received a bill in the original agreement stating that I am two months late and was being reported to the credit bureau. I again contacted Sallie Mae and this time they said they knew nothing about any agreement. After I explained that I had the signed agreement in front of me, they claimed that it was no good because I missed the last payment, After explaining that I was told to ignore any future bills, the man said that I had missed an October payment even though there is no documentation of this. The company insist that I pay Nov., Dec., and Jan., bills (but not October mind you) at the full rate of 250 dollars a month, instead of the agreed upon 50.00 a month. They claim that they will ruin my credit for life if I don't comply with their terms.
