Bank of America is known for charging excessive overdraft fees that are not valid. This is how the bank makes their money. After getting tired of being slammed with hundreds and sometimes thousands of overdraft charges, we closed our account. But... We forgot to cancel one thing that we had scheduled to be paid by online banking in the coming month. So, one month after our was closed, Bank of America sent that payment that was scheduled and charged us $35 overdraft fee. Then charged us additional charges because the account was closed. Then, when I tried to dispute it, they turned us over to a collection agency and the latest phone call I got (which is every 3 days) was for $559. You would think that since the account was closed, they would not make a payment to someone. But look at the money they are trying to make off a $286 payment.
