Wells Fargo Financial ripoff National Bank Charges Late Fees to receive payments twice a month in excess of amount requested by posting to previous month statement

Lol, you're going to love this one. Allright, we purchased furniture through Mor, who contracted the purchase through Wells Fargo Financial National Bank in December.

Every month, payment of $300 was paid once a month prior to their closure date of the 3rd, automatically through Washington Mutual Bank's online billpay. The required monthly amount is $277 give or take cents. Statements now show only $129, and at the time of this initial post, I don't care to look up an old statement to find out the exact amount. Suffice to say, the amount required is less than the $300 we've been paying.

Everything was running smoothly until we decided to break the one monthly payment of $300 into two monthly payments of $150. This obviously confused Wells Fargo's systems.

On November 3, the statement cut-off date, Wells Fargo stated they'd received November's first payment, and posted it to October's billing, making October's payment $450; thus, November's payment recorded in their systems only showed $150. On November 29, Wells Fargo charged their first "Late Fee" of $35.00.

I called in December, and my husband and I both spoke with a customer service rep who stated they would remove the $35.00 "Late Fee, " in addition to placing my name in the records authorizing Wells Fargo reps to speak with me directly regarding payment, as the account was placed in my husband's name. He did not do this.

Following month, we get another $35.00 "Late Fee." I call Wells Fargo again and spoke with a very nice customer service rep who, like the first rep, could see that Wells Fargo should not have charged any Late Fees. Unfortunately, the customer service reps are authorized to only remove one "Late Fee." Because the former rep did not do any of the requests we made, we had to again request to have me added to the list of authorized individuals to speak with concerning payment on my husband's account, in addition to removing, again, the new "Late Fee." This customer service rep did not have authorization to remove any past "Late Fees."

She then transferred me to "Ted, the Manager." lol, Ted, the Manager was useless and kept repeating "We are not removing the Late Fee, because you only paid $150 in November."
"That is not true, " I stated, I paid $300 in November directly from Washington Mutual's online banking."
"That payment was received on 11/03 and posted to October's statement, " Ted informed me.
"It was a November payment made in November for the November billing. I don't know why you people posted it to a preceding month... The fact remains THE PAYMENT IS NOT LATE."
"We're not removing the Late Fee, " Ted repeated.

That was as far as we were getting with Ted, the manager.

I went to Washington Mutual who concurred with us in that yes, Wells Fargo has been receiving payments every month on time without fail.
"Wells Fargo states that they did not receive $300 in November, " I informed them, just as Ted the manager stated.
"That is incorrect, " stated Washington Mutual who then opened up five cases: one for each of the, then, five $150 payments.

I called Washington Mutual a few weeks later to learn the status. Status was, Wells Fargo wouldn't even discuss the account with Washington Mutual without our having completed some form of authorization with Wells Fargo. Of course, no one advised us of this during any of our phone calls, to include "Ted the manager."

I have shifted our payments BACK to the once-a-month payment of $300 to cease receiving $35 "Late Fees" being added to our account. We now have a total of three $35 charges, of which I will NOT BE PAYING when it comes time to close this account in full here in a few months. I will expect legalities and much time, energy, and money in acquiring legal counsel; and I absolutely guarantee that any funds spent on legal counsel, in addition to the time and expense we are out in fighting this, will most definitely be added to the amount we will be suing for... And I guarantee you it will be for far greater than the $105 Wells Fargo would love to have us pay.

I am most interested in any existing class action suits against Wells Fargo currently pending for their inappropriate useage of funds and system charges to receive more money than requested prior to the date due. LOL @ charging Late Fees to receive more money than requested too early. I did not ask for them to post it to a preceding month, nor were the funds sent nor received in the preceding month. Funds were sent on or around the same date every month automatically without fail since account inception. If Wells Fargo thinks I am going to drop this issue, then they are sadly mistaken. I don't care if it was ten cents, charged. They should NOT be allowed to charge people a "LATE FEE" for receiving money on or before the due date, period. It is a poor misappropriation of consumer funds, in addition to wrongful charges for wrongful reasons.

Class Action Suit rings very loud, here, as I know I am not the only consumer who has experienced this.
