I have a remittance account with Wells Fargo. I few weeks ago I received a post card advertising that they are offering a $3.00 charge on every remittance made (the usual charge is $5.00). This was supposed to be a promotional service that will run until towards the end of May. A few days after receiving the mailer, I made a transfer to remit funds abroad. I was expecting a charge of $3.00 but was charged $5.00. I contacted their customer service and was advised there's nothing they can do because my fee has always been $5.00. My only mistake was not saving the card otherwise I could have slammed it at their faces. Why advertise it when they are not willing to honor it? I now use Wells Fargo very rarely and has been recently using another service that cost way lesser than Wells.
