Providian has reported to the credit burrows that I have paid late for three months this year on a credit card account that has been closed for over three years now. This account was sold to a collections company 08/01 I paid the account in full and have the paper work to prove this.
So no problem right should have no problems getting this fixed just call Providian and show them that they made an error in reporting me because they sold the account two years ago. And the account has bean paid in full any way Right. WRONG Providian tells me to contact the people that it was turned over to, I call the people it was turned over to and they tell me there is no problem the account is paid and they didn't report me. They say I have to talk to Providian. I call Providian again and explain what I was told. At which time I am given phone number to call. So I call the number and it turns out to be a fax number. So I call Providian back and get the third person I have talked to. This time I start out by asking for this person name employee number. This person starts to tell me the same thing that the last two tolled me about contacting the collection agent. I stopped her and explained that I had already done all of that and that Providian was the one that was reporting me so they where the only one that could correct it.
At this point Providian's people became agitated with me and totally uncooperative. I then asked to talk to a supervisor and was told they where out to lunch but they could transfer me to the supervisors voice mail. I said thank you and was cut off again. I have tried seven times to talk to a supervisor and each time I am given a phony number or just cut off altogether.
I have come to the conclusion that they just don't care. I need to refinance this two year arm this month to avoid paying a much larger payment, and all I need is this one thing to be taken off my credit so I can qualify for a decent loan that wont cost me an arm and a leg, And they JUST DON'T GIVE A *^&^%$
