Dishonest overbilling. Lacks transparency Ripoff Atlanta Georgia

Aspire Visa Card took over my account from Providian in 2002 or 2003. I paid my bills regularly and on time and was sure there was only a small amount when they took over. A year ago it dawned on me that Aspire maybe overbilling me as I was never late with my payment to them either. I called and requested a statement of my account from the time they took it over to present. I was told by one of their reps to send $5 with a letter of request and the statement would be sent to me.

To this date I have not even received an acknowledgement of the letter or the payment. I wrote to them a second time and included a copy of the letter I sent them.
However, they continue to bill me and have still not made any reference to my letter of request for a statement or to the payment that was submitted.

I have no way of knowing whether my bill has been paid completely because no one at Aspire will speak honestly with me. Whenever I call I get frustrated because the people to whom they outsource their business cannot speak a sentence in proper English and I get nowhere with the supervisors.

I know I am being ripped-off. I do not have money to throw away. I do not have an Aspire card to show and I have not done any transactions since they took over my account. How could I still have these big bills they have been sending me since that time? They should be investigated.

They must not get away with what they are doing to poor people. I still have a copy of the letter I sent them.
