Back in August Aspire apparently took over the accounts from Providian credit card company. (I think now that Aspire & Providian is one and same) had the Providian card for several years prior.
At the time, my credit was fair and improving. I was paying on time and my credit available amount was growing. My interest rate was shrinking too. I was using the Providian card occasionally for emergencies.
I then receive a notice saying Aspire would be taking over Providian. Unfortunately, some weeks later I found and read some small print about keeping the payment plan the "same" as Providian. Meanwhile my payments became larger and my "amount available for charges" shrank.
Hence, Aspire forced me to cut up their card and return it to them. Now I don't have anything for emergencies. I had credit line of $2,375. There also went my improving credit rating down the drain.
Aspire has also raised the interest charges from Providian's annual percentage rate of approx. 19 to 20% to Aspire's 29%! Somehow my balance has steadily risen w/o a charge card in possession. At this rate I will be paying forever. Theyre as good as crooks. Thanx for nothing.
