Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
Lost job, behind on payment, ask for help, RUDE REPS, not helpful!

Back the end of May I lost my job, when we knew we were not going to be able to make our normal payment we paid WELLS FARGO HOME MORTGAGE a $700 payment of our normal $1017.00 payment ($799 first mortgage 218.00 second mortgage) we then called them about a week or so later to be sure they received the payment and they stated they had not received any $700 payment, upon some checking they discovered that the payment had been paid to our 2nd mortgage and not the first. The rep. Told us it would take a few days to investigate the situation and then they would get back to us, after about another 4 days we called back, and they said that yes they found the mistake and the $700 would be posted towards out first mortgage. We then ask about a "Forbearance Agreement" and was told that unless we had our mortgage 2 yrs and were 2 months behind we could not do it, and because I did not have a job, we did not quality? Huh??? Does that make sense?

I got another job and started on July 11, I called to talk to someone about my situation and a rep told me I could get on a "Forbearance Agreement" and she took my information and said I qualified for a "Forbearance" said with the $700 they had credited back to our mortgage and if we paid $960 by July 31 we would be current. We ask if this included "BOTH" mortgages and she said yes, so we figured we were good to go.

A few days later we get a letter in the mail stating we owed $827 by July 31 then $1195 by 8/11, $1195 by 9/11, and $915 by 10/11, my understanding was, "FORBEARANCE" means temporarily stopping a payment for a set amount of time to give you a chance to get caught up, we ask the WFHM REP about this and she said Yes, and "Forbearance and a Payment Plan" were different, and told her the paper we had said "TEMPORARY FORBEARANCE AGREEMENT" and she said no, you got a payment plan.

She continued to tell me it was my responsibility to make the payments, YES! I know that, but I explained I lost my job, the company was going under, it was beyond my control, and that its not like I am avoiding them and just not paying the payment, I AM ASKING FOR HELP! I told her I am just asking for something managible until I get some checks under my belt and can get back on track, I told her I do have other bills, if I dont pay my car payment, I dont get to work, then WFHM does't get their payment, her comment was "AND THEN YOU END UP HOMELESS!" that is unreal. She said they didn't care about my other bills, obligations etc. That I can make arragements with the other bills, they want their money.

Upon further conversation with this rep, I also find out, the $700 that I paid in June, is sitting in LIMBO, they will not put it toward our mortgage until they get the money they want, she said they are holding it and will continue to until they get the money they are requesting. As long as they hold the $700 that makes us that much more behind, If they would apply it, we would not owe them as much... I just can not see how they can just sit on $700 of my money. The rep also continued to tell me that just because I am on a payment plan/forbearance plan, whatever the heck they wanna call it, doesn't mean that it will stop the forclosure process either. That is majorly messed up!

I have found that WFHM employees VERY RUDE! REPS. Even the supervisors are some of the Rudest people I have ever spoken to. I guess thats a prerequisit to work for WFHM. PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE! WFHM is bad news, they do not care what it takes to get their money, they just want it when they want it!
