Terrible customer service - What I did to make sure payment went through

My mortgage was sold to America's Servicing about nine months ago. I had a bad feeling about them immediately because they had no web address. What legit company doesn't have a web site these days? When I called customer service they explained that they were new and would have one up shortly.

Eventually they did but unlike my previous lender there is no way to access your account, see if a payment has been posted or get information on the status of your loan.

Unlike a lot of people who've posted on this site, I didn't have trouble with my payments not being posted. I assume it's because I have set up an automatic bill pay system with my bank, and they pay ASC. Perhaps ASC has figured out that it's a lot easier to mess with individual customers then large banks, when it comes to fraudulent business practices. I'm sure my bank wouldn't put up with that for a minute and would possibly complain to the SEC.

Go to your bank's website and check to see if it has some sort of bill pay system.in the entire time I had my loan with ASC, there were never any problems with payments being posted late.

I refinanced recently and there was some delay getting the payoff posted. BTW if and when you refinance, you might want to ask your lender if they sell their mortgages, some don't.
