Valentine and Kebartas is one of those collection agencies that will resort to illegal collection practices to find their debtors. My brother-in-law got sucked into a joint scam this company has going with T-Mobile (which has been reported elsewhere on this site); their skip-tracers somehow got my phone number, and although I have nothing to do with the collection account, their automated phoning system calls my house at least 3 times a day.
The collectors at Valentine and Kebartas all acknowledge that their system should not be calling my number, and they claim they have no idea how or why the automated system is calling my number. They say they've done everything they can do about the matter, and I still get the automated calls every day.in fact, the phone calls have only *increased* since I contacted Valentine and Kebartas. This is an old and illegal tactic used by collection agencies: once they know they have the phone number of somebody related to one of their debtors, they will continually harass the relative in the hopes that he/she will pressure his relation into settling with the collection agency.
