If this is the "joy" of home ownership, we would have never bought a home! Ocwen has been our worst nightmare from the first month we moved into our home.
Not a month has gone by in the past 15 months since we bought our home, that we haven't had a problem with our payments being posted on time. Ocwen screwed up our address for 6 months—even after we repeatedly called to get it corrected.
Only after they started litigation proceedings did they even bother to straighten it out! My husband has been hung up on, has called the 1-800-74-ocwen number to never get an answer, has not been able to get anyone who knows anything, and so far..
We still have no straight answer on the po box 514577 in los angeles. Our payments are sent 10 to 14 days before they are due, and they are never, ever on time!!! We were even told to mail them a month early!
To stop "foreclosure" proceedings, we had to fork over $3200.00 plus our regular house payment for a mistake that was theirs in the first place! We were infuriated, but the fear of losing our home was paid for by ignorance.
As we speak, we just received yet another call from their collections dept. This time we were told to cancel the previous cashiers check that we sent on the 28th of january (they have not yet received?) and to reissue a new one to send straight to their orlando office (12650 ingenuity drive, orlando, fl. 32826). We did so only to find out this afternoon that our payment was received yesterday and posted!
We spoke with 11 people who could tell us nothing about anything and now—we have a new bill just arrived with a balance of $1805.71 due by march 1st!
Is this a rip-off or what? My husband is a us disabled combat veteran, who is ready to ditch this "dream" home for a comfortable rock that isn't owned by ocwen.
Any class action lawsuit we will happily join in on—just sign us up—we've saved everything! Semper fidelis.
