Being inflexible when mortgage payment is behind

I am a little behind in my mortgage payments and when I am trying to explain why and what I am doing about it they say all they want is the full amount or else. No compassion about my situation which I will pull myself out in just 2-3 months. They do want to hear about it. Now I am getting all kinds of notices to pay in full or suffer the consequences.
