In October I lost my job and was out of work for 6 months. I was late on my mortgage payment in January and then PHH Mortgage refused to accept payment and attempted to forclose in March even though I was willing to pay my mortgage payments. I was forced to hire a mitagation company to try to remedy the matter and they did nothing to help the situation. I filed a stay in order to try to halt the forclosure and the judge set the hearing date almost a month after the scheduled auction date on my home. After much time and money I came to a agreement that nearly tripled my mortgage and paid $4900.00 in Fees. Even though my credit was ruined by this incident I was able to obtain another mortgage and have been trying to rebuild my credit in order to get my life back to were it was prior to what PHH did by refusing to accept my payments in January.
