I was given a call stating I was pre approved for a 2500 credit limit from mastercard and avlis. Just like most people here I agreed and gave them my info. I also tried the 877 number, and only got an operator 1 time who told me she didnt know anything about my account.
After I had hung up the phone when they called me, I started thinking. I *69 there phone number and it was 416 759 5132
I called this number and got only a busy tone. I then looked up area codes to see where it was located. It was a canadian phone number from the toronto ontario area.
I called my bank before any charges were debited from my account. I requested a stop payment and they said since it was an automated transaction, I could not put a stop payment on it. They told me I could switch to a new account, so I did this. The withdrawl date isn't until nov 26th, so I will have to wait and see if this works.
Like they say if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
