I recieved a phone call from Michael Jay (ID 21037) in October. He was offering me a MasterCard with a $2500 credit limit. He had my information already and he was "calling to verify my information". He stated that for $349.00, I would recieve this MasterCard with a credit limit of $2500. I let him talk for a while and he explained how this all worked and then transferred me to the "confirmation department".
Once I was transferred, I declined the offer and was hung up on. On Oct. 29th, $349.00 was debited from my bank account. I called the 877-247-0055 phone number several times and the majority of the time I got some lame answering machine. I kept attempting to contact someone and once I did they stated that once they get confirmation of the bank transaction, I would recieve a package with information that I would need to sign and return and then I would recieve the card. I explained the I had previously declined the offer and the $349 was never suppose to be debited from my account. She then told me that in the "package" I would have the opportunity to decline the offer and they would refund the $349. Today is November 18th and I still havent recieved anything and when I call they claim that they are still waiting on the confirmation from their "processing company" that the money from my account was recieved.
I spoke with them again today and they told me that a manager wasnt available until this afternoon. The girl said that Brendan Williams is the supervisors name and that I should call back this afternoon around 3pm and ask to speak with him.
The company is supposedly located in Delaware but the customer service number 877-247-0055 is Central Time Zone not Eastern Time Zone. She stated the company headquarters is in Delaware and the customer service department is in Central Time Zone and she refused to give me the address or location of the "customer service department." She said that she has been doing business with Avlis for 5 years. I have called my bank and filed a dispute on the $349 charge and they are going to refund my money back if they cannot contact and resolve the issue with Avlis, which will be impossible since they dont exist. I explained the whole situation to the bank they said that I wasnt the first person to complain about this company.
I also noticed on my bank statement that the company is Avlis Travel.
Stay away from avlis! Its a scam!
