DirecTV
Monopoly

I established service with directtv in the sales person did not mention the 2 year contract. I realized the contract was in effect a few months later. I signed up with directtv because they have a monopoly on the NFL package. I left the whole contract thing alone because i knew i wanted the NFL package. My family and I had to move out of the apartment a little after a year with my parents due to financial reasons so we suspend the account. February we find a a new apartment that does not allow satellite. I went back and fourth with directv and the property management, end result is i had to cancel service with directtv So i called directv and explained the situation i am having with our new place and asked them to wave the fee for cancellation, they refused every which way possible. I spoke to two different managers. Both were rude and insisted i had to pay the fee. After, an hour on the call the manager said i could write a letter to the corporate office and they might, yes might reverse it. Well i didn't bother i sucked it up and paid the early termination fee severing all Tye's to directv. I received a "final" statement the read 0 balance, good to go i think not because today i get a letter from directv collections saying i owe $49. Xx. I call in they explain that these are pay per view charges from 2008. They explain that i ordered using my remote control without a phone line connected. At this point, reflecting on all my negative experience with diretv i told the manager on the phone i would not pay for it, she insisted that i would pay for them by my card on file. I closed my card and if some how the do charge me i will dispute it. They are charges that happened in 2008 and should have already been paid for, my account is closed i have no obligation to directv and if the ruin my credit so be it. At this point they will not get another another penny out of me
