Directv Claims False Contract with Huge Cancellations Fees When You Try to Cancel Service Internet

After several years with Directv I finally tried to rid myself of their grossly overpriced services. The well trained (to deceive) csr went through all the usual non-sense and then told me that I will be billed $180 for an early cancellation fee. This resulted due to a recent service call where a box was replaced. The service call was for poor reception and was not fixed by the new box or anything the technician did. We did not ask for any new equipment and we certainly were never told that this box came with one year contract! I never would have accepted it.

The csr stated that since we signed a work order that we in fact agreed to a one year contract with Directv and that $20/month is due for each month after cancellation. There was no supervisor or manager to speak with. The only recourse I was given was to write a letter to the corporate offices after receiving the bill. Of course this will result in the usual customer no-service and the customer is always wrong.

Do Not Get Directv, even if your life depends on it. They are unethical, corrupt, and down right dispicable. Don't do it!
