My friends and I bought a timeshare in October and it appears that the resort company referred Vacation Trade World as their closing agent. We paid them over $750 (originally we were being charged $150 more, but I thought I was smart to negotiate them down in price!) in November. Part of this closing cost was the transferrence a deed of a former resort that we owned, which was part of a trade deal we agreed upon. Well, one year later (Nov), I rec'd a bill for our annual maintenance fees from this former Timeshare Resort (in the U.S., by the way - very reputable resort). It appears they still have my friend and I as owners of record on the deed - which means a transfer was never done. I explained to them this whole process and I sent her copies of the emails with Vacation Trade World, but she said, although she "felt" for me, there was nothing she could do because we are still the legal owners! I have sent 3 emails to valuetraded.com, including to those persons named in this complaint. I have yet to hear from them. Today, I decided to do a search of Vacation Trade World to find out if there was a U.S. Contact, and I saw the Fraudulent Reports filed against them. Well, it looks like we were bilked as well! We are going to try and contact the resort in Mexico and hope that they will make things right, and if they don't, I will also file a report on them as well.
