Upon making our purchase from Diamond Resorts my wife and I were told that by owning the Kaanapali Beach Club in Maui, HI that we could easily trade for anywhere in the world we wish to go. Well number one, our points wont even buy a week at our own resort, as we were told they would and owning in Hawaii doesn't make it any easier to trade for anywhere else in the world. More sales B.S.
When we opened our maintenance fee assesment for 2012 we find that it has gone up about 40% over what we where told they would be for our resort. Apparently some other resort in their system needed some repairs and upgrades that we have no ownership in.
Is there anyone out there that is similiarly angry about this and does anyone know if we can band together some way to fight this rip-off? Heck, next year it will most likely be another 40%. You can rent a week in Maui for less than what they are charging for maintenance fees.
My wife and I are thinking of just stopping the payment of our annual fee but our credit would surely take a hit. I am at the point that I almost don't care anymore. But I don't want to see these S.O.B.'s win either. Can anyone help?
