Disappointed - AIRLINE TICKETS

I'm a frequent flyer - traveling about 4-5 times a month and had used Orbitz in the past for my more complicated travel plans. However, I will never use them again after this last trip! When my travel was disrupted due to Hurricane Irene, I tried to get ahold of an Orbitz Representive for 4 days straight - once staying on hold for 3 hours - and was never able to talk to a live person about my flight. Then when I showed up at the airport, I was told that my flight had been canceled and I couldn't get on. I was shocked! They made me pay an additional $300 to re-book my flight on top of the original amount I had paid for the trip. I was unable to get ahold of anyone at Orbitz to confirm and see what could be done so I was stuck paying in order to finally get home. Since then, noone at their customer service has been able to help and won't explain to me what happened.
