I contacted Expedia.com to purchase some plane tickets to Donetsk Ukraine. I found a good flight and was told it would cost me $1280.00 I ordered these tickets and got a reservation confirmation number. About 4 hours later I got an e mail saying that I had to call in and discuss these tickets with them. I called in and they told me that while the flights were available, I had to pay them a couple hundred dollars more. I cancelled my reservation and got a cancellation number. I asked when my money would be refunded to me and they said they never took any money from my account. I then ordered tickets from another company and got them for less than expedia had offered me on the phone. Today I got up and looked at my checking account and they told me that I was over drawn by $1100. I looked and it appears they had authorized a deduction from my account and while they had never "collected" the money it would be there for up to 10 days before I could access any of my money in my checking account including new direct deposits. So Expedia confirmed my reservation, then offered it to me at a higher price, then locked up my account for 10 working days.
