This is the second time I have used Travelocity to book a hotel. The first was for a hotel when I went to a sports event 2 hours from home.in the case something went wrong, I would be able to recover quickly and and just go to another hotel. AMAZINGLY, everything went very smoothly. I have to admit though, I did expect the worst because of all the bad reviews I have read previously. I went right in and claimed my room with no problem, no surprises.
The last trip was bigger and more expensive. I went to LA for the first time and wanted to stay in a downtown hotel, instead of a regular. I did not trust them to handle my flight, however, and went through the airline itself for that. But Travelocity did book my hotel and car. I got an amazing rate for a downtown 4 star hotel and compact car for 4 nights and 5 days. I am very frugal, but I was pleased. The Westin Bonaventure Hotel showed us a really comfortable and good time. The biggest problem was parking as it was $35 a night to park at the hotel valet. Yet, I expected it bc I read another review months before I booked the trip. It was more convenient to park there bc you were able to go in and out of the parking as much as you needed without having to pay again. With the surrounding lots, that may seem cheaper, you may have to be out by midnight or risk having your vehicle towed. THis means that you would need to return to the lot by 6am each morning to pay for another day. And pay to enter and exit each time. I sucked it up and paid the 35 a night. Then, I had to use the computer to print car insurance since I left mine in my car, and needed some for the rental. The hotel charges $. 40 a minute via credit card. I am glad the internet ran decent. I was out of 6 dollars in a matter of minutes, but at least I got my insurance printed (right?).
In my opinion, the hotel was only a little above average as far as room design. But, loved the structure. The personnel were great and friendly. There is a bar/lounge called Suede that was great. There were awesome workers there tat made us feel at home and comfortable. Then, the hotel sits in the center of town, making it accessible to shopping areas, food, sight-seeing, etc... I have no complaints with Travelocity. I did call two weeks before my trip to confirm reservations for both the car and hotel. All went well and I would so use Travelocity, Westin Bonaventure and Alamo rentals in Los Angeles (Inglewood) again! Highly recommended. Thank you for a thorough and great trip with absolutely NO issues!
