Roots Travel booked my family, my in-laws and two other relatives (8 total) into an apartment at 19 rue de montmorency, Paris. Because we were a large group, and due to some health problems, we required 2 bathrooms. The apartment was advertised as having 2 bathrooms.
When we arrived, we discovered it had 2 bathrooms, but only one working toilet (thus defeating the purpose of getting 2 bathrooms). When I complained, Roots Travel representatives said that, in France, a bathroom doesn't necessarily include a toilet. I pointed out that any American would assume 2 bathrooms means 2 toilets. Also, that the place actually had 2 toilets, but one was not working. Therefore, I felt Roots Travel had misrepresented the unit, and was hiding behind semantics. They refused to offer even the slightest partial refund, to make up for the inconvenience of 8 people having to share one toilet.
