Complaint / Review
Consolidated Resorts
Tahiti village&scam, liars, etc

On April 30, my husband and I flew to Las Vegas to visit, the Tahiti Village Resort. We were contacted a month before we went, to let us know that we would be staying at The Stratosphere, a "5 star" hotel. Yeah right!

When we arrived at The Stratosphere, it was nasty and yes it was on the Las Vegas strip, but all the way at the end! The first night in this hotel was horrible! The room smelled of a sewer. We asked for a room change, and we were moved next to the elevator! Are you kidding me. And so the fun begins.

We went to the Tahiti Village area, to check in and the first thing they wanted to know was when we wanted to take our tour. We agreed that we would go the next day and go ahead and get it over with. It was only going to take 90 minutes, so we went early at 9 am.

We arrived at Tahiti Village with a bus full of other couples and were greeted into a room and told to wait for our salesperson. My husband and I were greeted by Mike K. Who seemed to be a very nice gentleman (so we thought). We had both discussed that we were not going to buy into this.

We patiently sat through the lecture and listened to everyone speak and took the tour and looked at the lavish suites they offered. When we decided to let them know that we were not interested, we were all but tackled down on the ground when we wanted to leave!

I was hungry and we were now going on the 90 minute time limit, it was time to leave. They "politely" offered me a coke and a cookie. Mike had us sit down at the table to show us the prices for the vacation timeshares they offered. We both about fell out of our chairs. We knew immediately we could not afford this. We went on to explain this to Mike and he then came out with a negotiation deal of the every other year vacation, which was affordable to anyone. Obviously, that is what everyone buys. When we were still reluctant, we were taken into a room with his supervisor whose name was "Christie" and she buttered the whole story up again! She explained to us that we could trade our week or we could even rent our week out. Christie and Mike both reassured us that if we wanted out of this, we could opt for the "buy back" program they offered.

After 5 hours of pressure and harrasment, my husband and I, left Tahiti Village in a limo, in debt for the rest of our life. Upon returning home, I attempted to contact them to let them know I was wanting to cancel our contract. After being transferred 6 times, I finally talked to Albert who told me I would be making a huge mistake if I cancelled it. He told us to think about it and call my noon the next day if I indeed did want to cancel. The next day I called and NO ONE seemed to know who this "Albert" was and that they could not assist me because our information had not been entered in their system yet.

I feel as if we were lied to and everything these people tell you is absolutely false. After reading the reports on here, I think they do the same thing to everyone who takes the "tour".

I advise anyone who is even thinking about taking this tour, to stay FAR, FAR, FAR away from them! They will ruin your life forever!
