Wyndham Vacation Resorts
Terrible company

After five years in the timeshare industry primarily working for Wyndham Vacation Resorts I wanted to respond to a few responses I have seen on this website concerning this company. First of all, let me say that what many of you are saying is true about the lack of customer service. The sales reps from the front line to the back line are told they are there for one purpose and one purpose only and that is to sell timeshares.in daily sales meetings the employees are told it's not what you say but, it's how you say it to the consumer. This and the fact that management does not 'police ' the representatives is another. You are allowed to get away with what ever it takes to get the job done until you are put on the hot seat.

You have managers who are some of the most amazing creative writers you will ever meet when it comes to their financial predictions of what their units can produce and will push their people to write these ridiculous numbers - no matter the cost.

After writing this you must be wondering why a person would stay and what kind of person would stay. This company on the surface takes very good care of its employees. Ie. Full benefits, good income, liberal time off, etc. They are always considered one of the top 100 companies to work for. I am not alone when I say this that there are a lot of people employed for this company who perform their job very well and take pride in doing well.

In reading the one comment written about one of the representatives Ms Prevatt I was somewhat surprised. She always took a hard line with making sure that any individuals she spoke with understand everything that was happening and how they could as an owner proactively protect their interests.

I too worked on the phones with the owners and find it amazing how many individuals would make a major purchase like this without thinking it over. Just one question - wouldn't walking away from a $50.00 premium be a better situation than a $40,000 timeshare you don't, won't need?

The concept of timeshare is wonderful and works for those who truly take the time to learn how to use their product - no matter who is selling the product.

It is unfortunate that this company doesn't recognize the importance of quality customer service, owner education, etc. It is true this company has had many challenges in the past and if only realized that chasing the almighty dollar and ' saying whatever it takes ' IS unethical, dishonest and a shame.

I like so many others who wanted to do a fair and decent job have come to realize that all the things this company says it stands for are untrue. I will never seek a job in this industry again.
