As someone who formerly worked with Resorts Transfer, let me advise EVERY TIMESHARE OWNER to stay away from ANY company saying they can or will sell your timeshare but require you to pay fees of ANY KIND UPFRONT!!!
If someone can truly sell or rent your timeshare, there is no need to pay them a fee in advance of the service being rendered. This is an extremely deceptive industry that preys on the ignorance and desperation of owners. I am ashamed to say that I was one of those people that did this for almost 2 years and I lost plenty of sleep over it. The typical "sales agent" I have seen is someone that has some form of drug addiction, can't get a job elsewhere due to a criminal record of some sort and has no conscience.
The lies that these agents tell owners about renting or selling their timeshares might sound sensible but, they are told by people, most of which never visited much less, owned a timeshare. When a "sale" of advertising is made to a timeshare owner, the only people that will see money after that are the owners of the business and the agent themselves. As nice as these people might seem on the phone, they are basically crooks.
Again, I used to do that phone thing for selling or renting of timeshares. I am ashamed that I lied to so many people and was a part of their money being lost because they trusted me to get them out of their timeshare.
My advice to every timeshare owner... If ANYONE contacts you with regards to selling or renting your timeshare, ask one question... How much money is required BEFORE my timeshare is sold. If the answer is 1 penny... MOVE ON! Do not provide any banking or credit card information EVER! Do not be pulled into the lies of the timeshare resales industry. The laws do not protect the consumers the way they should when it comes to this scam... And believe me... It is a scam!
