Around May I received a call from Majesty Cruise telling me I had won a wonderful price for a trip to Orlando/Fort Lauderdale and 2 night cruise. I just had to pay for port fees and a few other stuff. I ended up paying like around $600.00 for a trip that I had won. $118.00 was for port fees. I booked my trip for October 11 through October 18. I received a call on October 14 informing me that the cruise was cancel do to FEMA taking over the ship. I told him I had already plan my vacation and had football tickets for that weekend and that I wouldn't cancel it know. On that phone call just they offer me to stay 3 days in Orlando and 4 days in Ft. Lauderdale in their Ramada Hotel and some food vouchers and to speak to the people at the welcome center.
We arrived in Orlando on the 11th at 9:00 and went to the Welcome Center. They did not offers us anything except food vouchers. They were rude and told us to call the company that booked our cruise. We were in Orlando for 3 days with nothing to do. (except our Football game that we had made plans for before hand). By the way the hotel was located next to the Correctional Facility Center in Orlando, Florida and the food at this hotel (Ramada 1000) was terrible.
Then we drove to Ft. Lauderdale on the 14th of October. There we spoke to Luis and told him how disappointed we were and how horrible the Ramada in Orlando was. We proceeded to apolized and offer us some tickets to the Jungle Queen and 2 for 1 for airboat tickets. It turned out that in order to get this tickets we had to go to a 90 minute seminar for a timeshare. It took 2 1/2 hours for them to let us go and hear us that we couldn't afford a timeshare. I was piss off because they never mention to me when I book the trip that I had to go to a timeshare seminar.
I called the company to asked for my money for the port fees because my cruise was cancel. They refuse to refund me and they told me that I can take my cruise in a later day that I have 18 months to book it. I don't want to go back to Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale and end up in the Ramada Resort.
The hotel in Orlando had no hot water and the safe was broken and they charge $12.00 a day for things like this. We requested to be moved to a different room because of no hot water and broken safe. The other room we got moved to was just as bad. Yellow water, stain in tub, doors that wouldn't close. Ft. Lauderdale was just a little better not by much. The food at both places was terrible. And we pay like $250.00 for the insurance of the car for seven days.
They made my trip a terrible experience that I don't want to go back any time soon.
While I was at the hotel I encounter many people with the same complaints and arguments. Some of them were not inform of the cruise being cancel they heard it from the visitors or they were inform the night before their date of the cruise. I felt bad from the people that were scam to upgrade their packages (upgrade that cost them over $700.00 and up) and the many older people I saw there that were to tired to argue. There was a lot of older people, a lot. They need to stop this. That's there retirement money and they are scamming everyone.
