I recently purchased a 12 day discount hotel package for business travel from WM (Bill) Grembowicz - Vacation Specialist operating as Resorts Marketing. Mr. Grembowicz's colorful brochures and handouts purported to represent the following hotels: Doubletree, Hilton, Sheraton, Mariott, Loews, Westin, Holiday Inn, and Embasy Suites.
When I attempted to use 3 of my discount hotel nights I was unable to contact Mr. Grembowicz at any of the numbers he had given (727) 808-2369, (888) 684-2283, (813) 482-1979, (954) 495-9163.
While I was not able to contact Mr. Grembowicz in person, I was able to locate Mr. Grembowicz and Resorts Marketing at the Better Business Bureau of West Florida (727) 535-5522 where Joanna Boutzoukas provided a report containing 24 complaints that had been filed in the past 36 months.
I also spoke with Mike Williams, Vice President of Doubletree Hotels, in Beverly Hills, CA (310) 205-4251 who confirmed that Doubletree Hotels does not now, nor has it ever had a business relationship with Mr. Grembowicz. Mr. Williams further confirmed that Doubletree Hotels does not have any record of Gloria E. Valentine ever having been employed by Doubletree despite the letter on Doubletree stationary signed by Gloria E. Valentine as the Director of Sales and Marketing that Mr. Grembowicz passes out in support of his discount hotel package scheme.
Mr. Williams also advised that re-sellers of travel services in Florida are required to be licensed, insured and bonded by the state of Florida. When I checked with the licensing division of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation I was unable to find any such license for Mr. Grembowicz.
My phone messages and emails to Mr. Grembowicz have gone unanswered and he has not chosen to refund the money he was paid as I have requested.
