My husband decided we wanted to take a vacation this year where there is a nice beach. We are on a tight budget with the way this economy is going and we looked for some vacations online. We came across Imperial Majesty Cruise Vacations Ramada Plaza offer of the Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and the cruise.
We paid $538.00 down and the more we read, they tacked on a LOT of extra fees. We would have easily ended up paying over $1000.00 by the time everything was said and done and been forced to sit through a timeshare seminar.
When we were sold this package, we were told that we were getting a "deluxe hotel stay". The salesperson promised us that the hotel was equal to a $75.00-$100.00 a night hotel. We were also promised that the cruise was equal in quality or better than Royal Caribbean or Princess Cruises.
We received our vacation materials yesterday and just out of curiosity priced out the vacation separately on our own on the Ramada.com website.
The Facts: If you go to www.ramada.com and you look up these two hotels in Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale, they range in price from $29.99 - $35.00 per night.
The cruise rate is very cheap also. If you do the math on all of this, we paid MORE than full price as advertised separately and they are telling you that you are getting a great deal.
Not only that but my husband called to cancel and get his refund he got hung up on. We filed a complaint with the Florida attorney general's office and our credit card company.
Going to take Denise's advice (previous poster) and send a nasty letter to get our refund.
