We too fell for this rip off. I always thought I was one of those people that would not be taken by some sort of scam. I have always trusted the Ramada name and thought it to be a reputable company. We received the video with the whole nine yards, beaches, cruises, nightlife, you name it. Then they kept asking us to upgrade, i.E. That ship is no good, for 200.00 dollars more we'll put you on Carnival and it's a much better line.
Well DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM! The hotel was a flea trap on the ocean. I thought we would be staying in a Ramada Inn... Wrong! It was a pit! I have a pool at home and this one was unkept, dirty, and wasn't even filtering water. I wouldn't let my kids go in it at all. The beds we filthy, as was the rest of the dump. Then it was off to see the 1 hour presentation that you must attend before you get your cruise tickets.
Held hostage is more like it! The entire time we spent there was over 4 hours listening to some high pressure salesman trying to sell you a timeshare. After telling him no over 100 times they take you to some room and offer you the same thing again but for 1/4 of the price. Finally they give you your cruise tickets. The cruise was the best part of the vaction and I have nothing but good things to report from Carnival.
This was our 2nd cruise and although Norweigen was more lavish, this was still fun. After the cruise the set you up in another pit hotel that is worse than the first one. We took one look at it and drove to Orlando and found our own hotel. A Holiday Inn and it was just great! Clean rooms, sheets, pool, you name it. We did end up in the Ramada Plaza for the last 2 nights and this hotel was much nicer.
If these people do call you, don't hang up the phone, slam it in their ear! If I knew then what I know now I would have never done this. You could do so much better all on your own. Don't let the name fool you. Just because this has Ramada attached to it, it ain't the Ramada you think it is.
