I just wanted to let everyone know that after I heared from my sister about the scams taking place with the company I just paid $800 to I checked the web and found this site. On this site was a story of a man who had specific details on how to get your refund. YOU HAVE 30 DAYS no ifs ands or buts about it according to Florida law. It is ALSO a violation of Florida law for them not to tell you over the phone that you have 30 days in which to cancel. Now I spoke to many people within 10 days of receiving my vacation package trying to get my refund even telling them of the Florida statutes. They try to pass you off by saying your are not in Florida blah blah. What they cannot argue with or say they did not receive is a written letter sent within 30 days of receiving the vacation package. They refunded me $200 off the bat before I even sent a letter out just over the phone conversations. Even trying to upgrade. They even had 2 ladies with the same ID number. When I asked Tiffany (the second lady) why she had the same Id number as the lady I talked to the day before she said that it was her employee number not her ID number as they are not allowed to give out there employee numbers. At the beginning of each of these phone conversations the automated voice says it may be recorded for quality assurance. Is that consent for you to record them? You decide. Look it up cause I am not sure. Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the company a few weeks after receiving the vacation package.

To Whom it may concern:
I am sending you notice in writing that I wish a full refund of my vacation package. I do NOT want to upgrade nor do I wish to take this vacation. According to Florida Statute #599.933 I am well within my legal rights to receive a full refund in a timely manner.
I have contacted your company by phone in order to cancel my vacation within the three days allotted after receiving my package in the mail. I am glad that the conversation was recorded since I was told in NO uncertain terms that I could NOT cancel and
would NOT get a refund. I voiced my concerns to your representative, (Tiffany ID#4021) and she attempted to placate me. Again I requested a refund & was denied. I also asked if there was any way to get a refund and she said no and that the only way was to be misrepresentated, and I was in many ways. I was told from the first initial conversation on the date of purchase that since it was a honeymoon I would be upgraded for free to an outside stateroom. Again during my conversation with Tiffany I was told the same thing. She had no idea that had already been upgraded which
means that the first guy I talked to during the initial purchase did NOT upgrade it even though he said he would. Therefore I WAS misinformed and requesting a refund AGAIN. I spoke with another representative with a different name but the same ID number and it happened all over again.
I recorded that call, and the call after. I again am going to contact you, through the mail and over the phone stating that you are in violation of
Florida Statute 599.933 in hopes that you will decide that giving me a refund now will save you money, headache and legal action. If you do NOT
comply with the law I will be forced to report you to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (who regulate the selling of
travel in Florida) using this form, as well as the media. I was also NOT informed that I had 30 days to cancel which is ASLO a violation of Florida
Statutes.
I also plan to Write to my credit card company and tell them that I am seeking a refund from the you. Explain why I feel you
misrepresented yourself and will be including a copy of this letter I wish for this to not have to go all the way to a formal letter of complaint
against your establishment. I was also NOT informed of any time-share meeting that I would be required to attend. I was told that I would
have to take a tour of the facility and comment on it to friends. That is it. According to the Florida Statute 599.933 I have 30 days in which
to receive a full refund and I will be demanding that refund now. You have 30 days in which to have my refund to me before this goes further.
Be advised that copies of everything will be saved for future use if needed. I thank you for the refund and have a pleasant day.

Withing a week of mailing that letter I was contacted by yet another manager from the customer service or whatever department. That was recorded as well. She quickly and respectfully gave the apologies from herself and on behalf of Ramada Plaza Resorts. She said that she was well aware of the Florida Statutes and that should I like a full refund she would process it that day. She also said that if I decided to take the vacation and if anything was NOT as described or if I was unhappy with the vacation for ANY reason that I would receive a full refund. I chose to get my refund now. Since I had previously had a 200 dollar refund she send a 598 dollar refund to my account which showed up in about a week. The only reason it took that long is after the scam I reported it to my bank and had them shred my cards and they were no longer valid. Takes longer to get a deposit back through a card that no longer exists. I hope this helps everyone. Thank you to the man who put it on this site for me to try.
By the way, Ramada still gave me the 3 day 2 night vacation complimentary though I am not sure I would even go. If I did at least I know I would have my full refund as well as the money I had set aside for my honeymoon (which was what the vacation was for) to change to another hotel if it got too bad at the place they gave us. We could always leave. Good luck to all.
