I was contacted on the evening of May 15 by Robert. He was very kind and seemed to be professional. He explained why he was calling and what he could do to help me. We talked for around 30 minutes on the phone. He advised me that a paralegal would be contacting me within a couple hours to get the file started. Approximatly 15 minutes later Robert called me back for some additional information. We had initially set payment to come out of my account on 23 May. I told him when he called me back that I was going to be unable to afford their service at this time and please cancel the service. He advised me to make sure that nothing was taken from my back account on the assigned day. I checked my account on that day and nothing was deducted. I checked it several other times again nothing was deducted. I checked my account again on 31May08 and there was a charge of 124.00 to my account. Keep in mind the amount we had agreed on was to be 99.00 but since it was cancelled there was to be nothing deducted.
I never supplied my credit reports which was requested because I cancelled the service. I was never contacted by a paralegal either. I assumed everything was ok. Boy was I wrong. They are now telling me that I never cancelled the service. They will not refund my money and they have not done a single minute of work on my behalf. I am at my wits end because I couldn't afford the 99.00 much less the 124.00. I don't know where to turn or what to do. Because of the type of account that I have to do a dispute can take anywhere from 60-90 days to get my money back. I am a single mother and at this point I don't even have enough money to feed my baby. I don't know what to do. Please help!
