Ripoff by consumerinfo.com

I signed up to view my "free" credit report via the consumerinfo.com. I had to give my credit card number for some reason. When I tried to go into the "my account" to make sure it was cancelled before they charged my account I was locked out. I called 3 times to have the account cancelled and the last time I called the guy tried several times to talk me out of cancelling my account.

I several times told him that I did not want to pay for a "free' service anymore. He assurred me that my account was cancelled and I would no longer be charged but as a "free service" to me he would send me my "free credit score" by mail. I said whatever to just get off the phone after 25 minutes of telling him I no longer wanted the service or have my credit card charged.

I checked my checking account today and found that 5 days after "cancelling" my account I was charged again. I called today and was told since I agreed to have the "free credit score" sent to me that meant I agreed to continue my membership. I told "Christine" that I spoke with that I was tricked and wanted my money credited to my account. Christine stated this was not their policy.

After much argument she stated that my credit card would be credited in 7-10 business days. So far I have been charged over $70.00 for a service that was supposed to be free!
