This has been in my heart and mind until I discovered usacomplaints.com. Now these guys will never get away with what they laughed about when I was helplessly conned down to the ground. THEY DID LAUGH AT ME WHEN THEY KNEW THEY GOT ME and I couldn't do anything about it...
In the summer of I made reservations for condo "A" for around $900. The day before we drove to South Padre Island I realized we needed more room than the one I booked, so I called again and asked if there was a bigger condo but AROUND THE SAME PRICE RANGE. Reservations said yes and gave me info on condo "B" located elsewhere which was impressively bigger. At that point I was so happy that these people are actually making customers happy and solving their concerns. I WAS WRONG.
Here's the twist: Reservations said just use the same reservation number I had for condo "A" and they'll make the necessary adjustments when I check in.
I checked in with my family and lo and behold, condo "B" was for $1500 and I was charged for the full amount. The ugly front desk lady was so rude and practically drove me away telling me that I should see the adjustment in my credit card in the next few days.
When I checked out after four days, again I asked about the $1500 rate they charged me and they said I should see the adjustment in my credit card shortly. I never did. I called a thousand times to their office and they kept passing me around. The worst one was the man they call "the billing manager" who literally hung up on me while I was patiently explaining the situation to him on the phone. I called a minute later thinking it was just a phone line issue and the phone just kept on ringing and ringing.
AS GOD IS MY WITNESS, each moment of this experience I can tell that they knew what they were doing all along and that this is some kind of modus operandi everytime a guest falls into this kind of trap. Needless to say, this is a company full of people who till take advantage of your trust in what they promise. Nobody in Padre Island Rentals was willing to help me, NOBODY. I have never experienced anything as un-american as padre island rentals. We've tried a different condo rental company this summer and had a much better experience so I can tell you that there are others that are more straightforward at the least. I hope I reached out to as much people out there because I don't think vacationing has to be ruined by a mexican ripoff like pirentals.com. Earning money the honest way earns customers for life. I hope pirentals.com ends up spending their ripoffs$ in a gigantic lawsuit someday!
