From the beginning this was a scam. The first person I talked to promised me all sorts of things like upgraded rooms, free drinks, extended my required booking date to 3 years, and a complete refund "at any time before the scheduled trip", made it sound great. Against my better judgement I took the offer and paid my first installment of two payments of 698.00.
Everything seemed ok, then I looked online and saw other comments from people that have gone on the tour which was the Orlando/Ft. Lauderdale Vacations. Suddenly I found out that it was a time share (their response was "no its not a timeshare this is just a half day presentation") which I was unaware of.
I later found out that my two extra trips and my upgraded rooms which were included with the main package would expire if I did not book them within the first year! At this time I wouldnt have purchased the package if I had known this information, half of the incentives were now expired.
After finding out this information I decided to call them for my refund. When I reached their customer service I explained to them what I was told and that I wanted my money returned. They offered to review the tape of my original conversation and call me the next week, if what I said was true then they would return my money.
The next week passed and I never heard from them. So the monday of the next week after that I called back. After being sent to five different people I finally got the answer "It is not our responsibility to ensure that the person you talk to is telling you the truth, and you should have read your contract"
I attempted to explain if I had known such stipulations would apply I wouldnt have purchased the package in the first place therefore never receiving their "official" contract.
I just dont understand how a company can HIRE another company to sell their product and claim no responsibility to what their customers are told. How can pay for nothing? I dont understand how a company as big and as reputable as I thought Ramada was, can let this happen? And how Ramada has survived without knowing that return business is good business, robbing and misleading customers is not.
