Ramada Plaza Resorts
Misrepresentation by Company

I bought this package a while ago and my husband has always been skeptical of this, so he didn't want to go. I talked a friend of mine into buying the same package so her and her 2 kids could go with me and my 2 kids. Her older son also bought this "great" package and wasn't using the 2 Universal tickets, so gave them to us to use for the extra kids we had.

Easter Sunday:
It took us 2 days to drive to Orlando, and after much time on the road, we arrive in Orlando and can't find the Welcome Center. After finally finding the place, we were greeted by the rudest "Welcome" person I have ever met! He was definately not what we expected from the so-called "Welcome Center" He tells us that we can't get our Universal tickets until we take the tour and he couldn't get us an appointment until Tuesday! My friend and I were completely appalled at his behavior and told him that we needed to have an appointment the next day because we would be missing a whole day at Universal Studios. He tells us that he could squeeze us in the next day at 12:30 so we accept the appointment knowing that this day would be shot and we would only get one day at Universal now because the next day was going to be spent on the tour.

We were told before leaving on vacation that we had been "upgraded" to the Sheraton World Resort - and was told this was a 26 acre resort with 5 pools and restaurants, etc. I asked for the website so I could check this out and saw that it was indeed an absolutely beautiful place!

After leaving the Welcome Center, we arrived at the Sheraton Hotel and it was absolutely gorgeous just like the website. We checked in and were given our rooms.

After finding our rooms, we were instantly depressed again!!! The rooms were EXTREMELY old and stunk terribly with smoke and just an old musty smell. We looked at each other and felt like crying. AGAIN we were misled into believing that what we saw on the internet was what we were getting.

We both went inside to complain and were told that we could upgrade to the "good" part of the Sheraton Hotel (the towers) for an additional $50/night. They only had one room available, so I insisted that my friend and her kids take that room and I would stay in the old room for one night before they could upgrade me also.

Monday:
The next morning I was greeted by a cockroach crawling up my bathroom wall! We immediately called the person we had been dealing with at RPR and was told to document everything and send in my comments after the vacation.

That entire day was spent trying to get a room-upgrade to the tower, trying to find the tour place so we could get our Universal Tickets, and trying to get the additional tickets from my friends son's vacation package which he didn't use.

We were told after finally finding the place where we were supposed to take the tour that we would only get the 2 tickets for our packages and NOT the tickets from my friends son's package because he had gotten the Rental car instead. They said they even had a confirmation number! We got him on the phone and he said he NEVER used the rental car. After much "discussion" we were told that we had to go BACK to the Welcome Center and pick up the 2 additional tickets. After getting back over there, there was a line out the doorway and we walked up to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. Eventually he came over to us and gave us our tickets. We told him about his rude employee from the day before and he didn't apologize or anything.

Tuesday:
Our trip to Universal was good.

Wednesday:
We drive to Ft. Lauderdale and go directly to the Welcome Center. This didn't take very long and the people were pleasant enough there. We drove to the hotel, which again was pretty old, but since it was only one night, it was ok.

Thursday:
We drive to the docks to board the cruise. After standing in lines forever it seemed, we boarded the ship and were shown our room. I had upgraded our room so that I could have a window. This room was EXTREMELY EXTREMELY small and they had a cot in the corner for one of my sons. If I opened the cot up, I couldn't open the closet door, nor get to the bathroom in the middle of the night if I needed to. There was no TV.

My friends room had 2 regular beds, and 1 bunk. They also had a TV. My friend offered to take one of my son's in their room so we could have the extra room. This arrangement totally screwed up everyone since each room was supposed to have 3 people in each room. I asked if they had any other rooms, and I could have upgraded to another room for an additional $40 (inside room without a window that I had already paid an extra $100 for)!!

Friday:
had a great day on the Blue Lagoon and Nassau. The food on the ship was excellent and the Waiter and Busboy were absolutely WONDERFUL.

Satuday:
We get back to the port and were yelled at by the housekeeping department because we didn't have our bags in the hallway. He yelled at my friend telling her that she was supposed to have read her yellow paper!

The ship lets us off at the wrong port, the customs agent yells at us because we didn't have everything in front of his face at his beckon call! He was EXTREMELY rude and didn't check anyones bag - he was a complete JOKE and should be ashamed of himself for thinking he is a Customs Agent! We have a lot to be afraid of with people like him.

Since the ship lets us off at the wrong port, they are forced to bus the entire shipload of people (about 1,000 people) back to the correct port. Everyone was extremely hot and tired and EVERYONE was talking about what a terrible experience they had with RPR.

That is how I found out about this website!

I used to be excited by the fact that I had other vacations to use, now I probably won't even bother.
