Ripoff Misrepresentation of Filthy Hotel and Vacation Package

I bought this vacation package over the phone and was promised many great and wonderful things that included 4 day 3 nights in exciting South Florida, 3 day 2 night Cruise, Rental Car for 7 days unlimited mileage, 3 day 2 nights in Orlando and the thrills of Universal Studios and Disneyworld.

I had concerns on the actual vacation package and called with concerns to their customer service department after paying half of the cost. I was asked many questions and was told different things than the original phone conversation. I requested the recording of the original sales conversation that was recorded and they could not produce this. It was then my word against theirs and from their standpoint the customer (me) was always wrong.

I went over the overall package again with them and requested my money back. They refused any money back and told me that if I don't pay for the other half I would loose my money. My husband and I thought that their literature and explanation of the hotels as "Gold Key" award winning, Carnival cruise, Alamo car, and Disneyworld overall appeared nice and decided rather than loosing the money down we would pay the other half and take the vacation. We reserved the trip and was sent the confirmation in the mail.

I was concerned when receiving the confirmation because 1: The hotel was not on the beach as explained over the phone 2: The cruise was not Carnival 3: The rental car company was not Alamo 4: The Disneyworld and UNiversal tickets were not included in the package 5 I asked how far we were from things and was told that everything was in walking distance (which nothing was we had to pay to drive and park everywhere we went)

I called and asked about all of these concerns and they eased my concerns by promising that all of these things were as I thought and that the only thing was that I would pick up the Disneyworld tickets at the Welcome Center in Orlando.

ALL is DOWNHILL from here
When we arrived we went to Alamo and waited 20 minutes to find out that the car was actually with Continental, so we went there. Over the phone we were told that if we paid more money and upgraded and would be getting a Toyota Corolla instead we got a Dodge Neon. We were not happy that we paid more money for this and said something but they told us we were wrong.

Then when we arrived at the hotel (not a resort as described) it was not on the beach far from it (15 minute drive). Then we went in to check in and they told us that we would have to go to a timeshare presentation to get our vouchers for the Cruise (that we paid for). We did not want to, but they told us we had to if we wanted to go on the cruise. Then when we got into our hotel room, that by the way was not "GOLD KEY" far from it the room had a terrible smell of urine, we went into the bathroom and there was urine all over the toilet and floor.

The front desk didn't help so I had to go buy Lysol and clean the room myself, it was disgusting. I beleive that the word RESORT should have guidelines to it and not used so freely this is not a resort. The management of the Welcome Center is very unprofessional and whenever we asked a question we were immediately told we were wrong. I asked about our food vouchers and she immediately told me that we don't get any, but I asked her to look up my account and she said "Fine you get some" and reluctantly gave me my food vouchers that I paid extra for.

We went to the timeshare presentation in order to be able to go on our cruise. We were told that the port was one block away but in fact it was a 30 minute drive and then we had to pay parking that was not explained to us. When we arrived the cruise line didn't even ask us for the voucher that we were told we had to get from the timeshare presentation. The cruise ship was not through Carnival as we were told over the phone. We aboarded the ship and I started crying. The ship was built in 1954 and looked like it, the 6 large pools that were described on the phone ended up being only 1 very small pool that noone wanted to even swim in.

The entertainment was not as described, nothing was as described and very disappointing. Then we went to the Orlando Resort and overall the resort in Orlando was nice, but when we went to the Welcome Center to get our Disneyworld and Universal Passes they told me that I don't get any and that I had to go to another timeshare presentation to get 1/2 off a ticket.

So we had to go to another timeshare presentation. They also told me over the phone that their resort was within walking distance of Disneyworld and I questioned her because the map showed otherwise and she told me that I could walk it, but I guess they figure anyone can walk it just would have been over a 5 mile distance. Overall this package was misrepresented and had false claims all the way throughout.

I feel like everything that they told me I paid $1800.00 took off work and paid a babysitter for was a lie and that nothing was as it was explained and plus I would eventually have to pay more for what I already paid for.
