LAS VEGAS TRIP ripoff missing package benefits rude spiteful

My husband and two friends of mine just got back from our lovely Ramada Plaza Resorts 5 day/4 night package. We are extremely upset mainly due to the fact that we paid $400 for the 4 nights (we found out that the crappy hotel in Vegas that they had us stay at was going for $59/night!) and we were supposed to get a free Hoover Dam/tour of celebrity homes TOUR that we never saw and when we asked about it, everyone played dumb, even though I had a copy of our certificate. We were supposed to get this trip in lieu of the rental car (we couldn't take advantage of the rental car because none of us has a credit card with "at least $2000 available credit" on it!) We were then told that we would get our tickets for the tour of Hoover Dam after the sales presentation.

We were not suprised by the presentation. We knew we had to go through it and was fine with it. It was supposed to be 90 minutes. 3 1/2 hours later, we finally got through to them that we would not be able to participate in their timeshare plan. At that point, the salesman got extremely rude, made rude comments to my husband and the female in the other couple. We were escorted to another area where they said we would have to answer some survey questions about the salesperson. We answered everything and then the "questioner" went into a sales pitch about another property in Lake Tahoe!

We told her again that we were not in the position to invest. She said "you don't have $290 dollars on a credit card for a down payment?" The woman in the other couple with us said "no, we're getting married tomorrow and it took our savings to come out here for this trip." The sales person looked at me and my husband, then back at her, pointed to her fiancee and said "then why the hell do you want to marry him?" This made her so angry she got up from the table and left in tears. It ruined the entire day!

It's one thing to try to sell something, but it's quite another to be downright rude.

Then, we had to go "claim our gift", which is where we were led to believe we would get the information for the Hoover Dam trip. We got there and they threw a clipboard at me and said "sign here, your room is your gift." We inquired about the Hoover Dam trip and the representative said, "no, since you didn't buy, you only get your room. You should be happy for the free room."

I don't feel like we got a "free room". My husband and I spent $400 for that room (which should have been freaking spectacular for it being over priced by $40 a night!)

If you can avoid this trap, please do. We wish we could get back $160 of our money paid since this was the over price for the room, we sat through the presentation (over twice as long as promised), and we didn't get to go see Hoover Dam (which was a big deal since we are from the midwest, almost 30 years old, and never been that far west in our lives).
