We purchased a 1 week 1 BR high red week timeshare package from Bluegreen corp. At their Harbor Lights resort in Myrtle Beach, SC in 6-1999. We added another week for high/ultra red 1BR in 9.
When we got the new contract for that change the entire package had been moved to Laurel Crest in TN. They told us it didn't matter and we could get our week at Harbor Lights anytime. Now they have changed the rules as of January where we cannot use our high red week points for Harbor Lights or any other of their resorts if we have to roll over points from year to year.
We have to use the points that year for High or Ultra Red weeks, we cannot save points from year to year, or can only use them for white or blue weeks, etc. That means forget going to Hawaii if your package is only 14000 points and you need 20000 points to go there! We are also upset because we cannot always use our points each year and want to continue to roll over our points as we had been doing for several years and wish to continue to do so.
Our contract shows they can change the rules for all members at any time but they are not treating us fair. Bottom line is that they oversold Harbor Lights and moved us to Laurel Crest and then made promises they cannot keep. They also oversold their other sights and cannot accommodate everyone equally as they mention in their letter.
Sell your timeshare now! It's not worth it. And we are still making payments and paying maintenance fees.
