A group of skiers trying to get home from Kalispell, MT after finding out their flight had been canceled, called the 800 United number. Asking, after speaking to numerous agents in a foreign country, whom they could not hear well or understand, to speak to a United States agent, were told to keep calling back in hopes a U.S. Agent would answer! The group that were to depart on the morning of March 9 were rescheduled to depart on different dates up to 5 days later and from airports as far away as 8 hours driving time Until being able to get the the airport, on the original day of departure and speaking to a real person, (in the U.S.) was the situation finally handled! All passengers were able to get out from Kalispell, MT the following day. United put them on a different airline and paid for their overnight lodging.

I am thankful for the outcome but the 8 hours on the phone prior to their departure was very upsetting! I thought when a person asked to be connected to a U.S. Representative, they would be. The agents in the foreign country would not put the people on another airline. They kept saying "We puut nex a vail a bull". I should add, this was after being on hold for one hour, talk to a person, get disconnected, on hold for another hour, then get the sorry outcome. I won't even get into the lost luggage!
