I made a booking through Trivago on 20th March at 6 am approx. I entered my credit card details so assumed this booking was confirmed. I received one email from Olotels.com at 6.42 am and two further emails at 8.47 am after I had left for work.
Unbeknown to me a credit card payment had also been taken at 7.00am by Travel Republic (with no email acknowledgement)
At approx 8.45 my husband received a telephone call at our home from someone saying there were three rooms left in this hotel and did I want to book. As my husband was not familiar with the details he suggested that they hold the rooms and send an email to me and copy him in on his email address. He then phoned me and forwarded it to my work email (as Hotmail is blocked)
In response to that email I phoned Olotels 020 8099 5115 at 3pm. I said I had put in my credit card details on line so wasn%u2019t this already a confirmed booking? They said "no". I was most distressed thinking that I had completed my booking but was told this was not the case, so I gave my credit card details to the man on the telephone to reserve the two rooms.
I have now received a booking confirmation from Travel Republic for the same hotel rooms. This confirmation was sent at 10.56am. At this point I was at work so couldn%u2019t pick up emails.
On checking my credit card statement I find two credit card payments have been taken.
Where did Otel.com get my home phone number? What resposibility do Trivago have in regard to this? Has anyone had any luck in contacting them there contact details are pathetic. Every time I try to contact them thru there web page it breaks down.
