Poor Service - No Resolution

Over the last several months, the services I have received from AT&T have continually gotten worse to absolutely no service at all. My sons, who are both on my plan, work for contractors, therefore: are at different job sites daily, typically within 50 miles of home, could not receive service or when they did, experienced constant dropped calls and the inability to make calls, etc. Therefore affecting their ability to be contacted by their companies. Concurrently I moved, 17 miles from my previous home address and I immediately received little to absolutely no service at my new home.

When contacting AT&T customer support on several occasions, I experienced numerous dropped calls, and when service did come through, most of the time it was so bad that I could not understand what the service technician was saying, nor could they understand me. I was even asked to “walk down the street” until I had service which was ridiculous. Additional requests telling me that my sons would have to call from the job sites where they were having service problems from to troubleshoot the problems were totally unreasonable. They are at work! Poor to no service was affecting their jobs and was COMPLETELY unacceptable.

After 3 very frustrating days and several phone call to the customer serivce department/technical support and whoever else they would transfer me too, having to explain the problems we were having over and over and over, resulting in no resolution to our problems, I was forced to find another cell phone provider where services are actually being provided, thus; resulting in a large early termination fee for cancelling my AT&T service. When speaking with the customer service agent, I asked that the fees be waived due to the fact that AT&T was not able to provide the services that I had requested and all attempts at fixing the problems were unsuccessful, I was told that, it was AT&T’s policy not to waive early terminations fees other than death or military services. When I asked to speak with someone of higher authority I was told there was no one.

I am being charged early termination fees for services that AT&T could not provide which is unethical and in my opinion, theft. I don’t believe that I should have to pay for fees incurred for terminating services that I was not receiving.
