This store was formerly "Edge Wireless" and was recently sold to AT&T. Upon acquisition of this store AT&T removed all the desks and chairs and brought in podiums for their employees to stand at to do their work. The employees are required to stand all day long and have had their hours extended to 12-13 hours a day. They are provided no more than 30 minutes break regardless of how long they work. The podiums do not provide them enough space to conduct data transfers from old to new phones, so their are often up to six phones laid out on the floor near their feet as the next in line to be worked on. AT&T provided a mandatory training for the staff that covered only sales technique even though the staff in that store had been doing fantastic at their job in sales. They provided them with no product information in the training class and given the staff is not selling new phones like Apple's iPhone etc. They could have used product training over sales training. The staff is running ragged throughout the course of the day by virtue of the new product release of the iPhone and they have no time to relax at all during the business day. The employees are pushed into a mode of work or be fired, yet their work hours require them to be at the store six days a week, 12 hours a day and standing the entire time. A friend of mine who is diabetic came home one night and showed me her swollen feet and ankles, but the management staff does not concern themselves at all by the physical well-being of their staff.
Just about every labor law has been violated by this store, and until this is fixed, I don't care how bad I want the iPhone, I refuse to support this pathetic conduct.
