I am shocked at the lack of customer service ATT has provided to my request. I have never been treated as poorly by any cell service as I have from ATT wireless. From day one being lied to by the store I originally purchased my iphone from and the rude and totally disrespectful person who I had the misfortune of being connected to last evening, 06/18 is enough.
My original phone was sold to me by a salesman more interested in making a commission rather than being honest about what the iphone 3G actually offered or caring about making a long term ATT customer. After I complained to him after the purchase about missing features I was told a new software would be available soon and that the features I needed would be provided. The features I needed are still not available on my current iphone 3G but are on the 3GS. I was also assured that the phone I purchased at the end of Feb. 2009 had just been released, another lie.
I assume that ATT condones this sales tactic as you have refused to upgrade my phone for the price that 1/2 of your current and new customers are paying which is $299.00. I was promised this amount by another one of your sales staff when I call on Wed. 06/17 yet another lie.
I was told today to drive to the ATT store in Camarillo CA to pick up an upgraded phone for $299.00. I called that store before I drove all the way down there and was assured all was in order and the notes on the system showed an upgrade price of $299.00. Upon arrival at this store there was a line around the store with a Sheriff deputy standing in line. I asked those in line if everything was ok I was told yes and the line was for the new iphone 3GS. As there were more than ten people in line and was told by the store's manager he only had ten phones in stock I left. Again another ATT lie.
So here is what I am going to do. I am going to contact the Ventura county Sherriff department to make sure you, ATT, paid for the deputies presence and if the county paid for it. I am contacting the Ventura County board of supervisors to complain and demand my tax dollars do not help ATT cell phones.
It was suggested by one of your employees, a supervisor I spoke with today, to call the California department of consumer affairs and file a formal complaint. I also will be posting and tweeting until further notice my feelings and ATT's lack of action. I will be asking for a lawyer to take on a class action against ATT and Apple for false advertising and creating a monopoly. I will be writing to my Congressmen to demand he pass the current bill on the floor to make sure he votes yes so that it will make it against the law to have a monopoly on cell phones. I know as well as you that with this law you will be forced to lay off employees and seriously hurt your bottom line. Without the iphone you will be negatively affected as your coverage is horrible and dropped calls unacceptable.
ATT also will need to cease and desist their TV ads stating the best coverage of any cell phone company. I will provide proof that this is a false claim and see that all your ads are changed.
I can be relieved knowing that Verizon will not only have the iphone this December but they also have to new BlackBerry Storm 2 and Tour coming out that will crush ATT.
I will continue to use your very unreliable service until Verizon has their new product available. After this point I will be leaving ATT and seeking any legal action needed to recover my early termination fees and worthless Apple insurance coverage and any other money that will be due me.
I must inform you this letter will be posted on any and every site I can find as this seems to be the only way to get you, ATT, to respond to your current customers and not forget about us because of greed. I will take my $115.00 per month and give it to a company that provides excellent service and provides their advertised coverage's.
At this point the only thing I will accept is an apology for wasting my time and send me a brand new 3GS at no charge. I offered to pay $299.99 but after the way I have been treated free is not enough compensation.
