Surf Academy
Depostied monies for non-existent classes, Unable to give specific directions Won't refund money, Unable to get response from owner Mary Setterholm Hermosa

I enrolled myself and a friend in a surf class through Surf Academy (www.surfacademy.org) and on the day of the class I called to confirm the classes since I did not recieve anything in the mail.

I called and they said that the class I signed up for did not exist and only my friend was signed up (though they had deposited my check and had never called to notify me of the discrepency). I asked for a refund for my class and decided to take my friend to his class. I called again for specific directions and they were unable to give me any, instead they said to enter "Pratte's Reef" into mapblast, which I got an error.

I decided to go to the general area and look for the class myself, since the office was of little help. I went and I could not locate the class, so I called the office and asked for a lifeguard tower number, she didn't know and told me to go in front of the power plant. I did and I saw a surf camp, I asked them if they were the ones and they weren't.

I called the office again, and the person could not give me any other directions other than in front of the powere plant, by this time we were about an hour late. I had walked up and down the beach and could not locate the class, instead I asked for a full refund. She said I would have to talk to Mary Setterholm, the owner, who was not available beacuse she was in a class.

I left 10 messages and emails for her, and the office manager said the best thing to do was keep leaving messages. I finally got a response about 3 weeks later via email, and Mary said that she thought I was her daughter asking for money and was completely unaware of the situation. I emailed her back explaining the situation and I never heard from her again.

I called the office and they said that they could credit my credit card, and it has been a week and I have not seen a credit to my account. I wonder why they didn't offer this as a solution initially.

It has been a month since this whole thing happened, and I have not even spoken to Mary, the owner. This company is flakey and unresponsive, and sort of complications and they don't care. But they were quick in depositing my check!
