Warranty not lifetime in this case

I own a Gamo air pistol. It is sold with a lifetime warranty. This was confirmed by e-mail in October. I paid shipping to Gamo for repairs. Tha air pistol was returned to me and it was in the same condition as when I had sent it to them. I again e-mailed Gamo. I was asked if I had checked the O-ring or CO-2 cartridge. This model has neither. I sent three more unanswered e-mails asking that someone with knowledge of this model or the technician contact me. I had to place a phone call before Gamo faxed a pre-paid shipping label to return the item to them a second time. I returned the air pistol.

In January I receive a call from Amanda. She leaves a message telling me the air pistol was in working order when it was returned to me in November, that it was repaired with "left over parts". She added that it was discontinued and Gamo would offer me a Compact Model at wholesale price and to resolve this issue. I checked prices on a compact and can buy one for $209. Amanda Said Gamos distributor price was $189. I told her that was not a good offer. I was expecting more. She told me that the company would lose money if they sold it for any lesser amount. I informed her I, the customer, was the one with the loss, and that the customer should not take the hit on a warranty claim if the company could not uphold their end of the warranty. She said in a very cavalier tone the company would do no more. So I have a broken item with a lifetime warranty and a company with no real interest in helping.
