Chose this apartment when moving to Ohio for school. Was promised new carpets. Was told two days before I was supposed to start my lease that that was no longer happening. Surprise charges not advertised such as A/C and pet fee. Friend was shown the apartment in the middle of July, was wrecked, promised everything would be cleaned. Was shown another unit that was clean and told that they would redo everything. Move in day arrives August 1st. Friend goes to get the key and is told that the apartment is not ready due to a problem with the maintenance mans truck breaking down. Apparently they were going to clean it the day I was set to arrive. Ask to be reimbursed with a hotel and offered an apartment to temporarily stay in after repeated lies and rudeness from the property manager, Coveda. After 10 hour drive find an apartment that has not been touched, not been cleaned. No new paint. Carpet at least 6 years old and uncleaned. Broken toilet and shower. Looks like a complete slum, like it was used by junkies. Garbage everywhere. Foul odor. Talk to Coveda. She claims her standards of livable and not livable are "different than ours" and shes seen worse apartments so why are we complaining? It is obvious that there was massive work that was needed to be done and she knew the deadline would not be met and didnt inform us. Claims that she never used redoing the carpet as a selling point and then turns around and reverses her lie saying that we could've backed out when we found out it wouldnt be done. She says none of it is her fault and then proceeds to threaten us. Despite her breaking the terms of our agreement for me to move in on the 1st and our lack of signature of a lease she only refunds us 100 of our 400 dollars and says according to the application we signed they get to keep the security deposit if we accepted the apartment and then decide we no longer want it. As we never signed the lease this is somewhat in question. We ask for her manager's number and she claims she can't give it out and we can't talk to anyone but her. She refuses to give us any resource to reach her company head. There are no internet resouces and very little info on this very shady deceptive business run by an entitled rude aggressive woman who has no problem abusing tenants. No honor to be had in this woman and this company. Beware they will scam and rob you.
