I rented an apartment from Glen Willows, 1416 W Glen Ave # 108 Peoria, IL 61614 (309) 691-7758 for 3 months lease term and later extended for 1 more month. I was asked to make a payment of security deposit $300 which would be refunded after the lease. I was not given a cleaned apartment and the apartment management denied to paint the walls because it was just a 3 months lease. I sacrificed that part because they agreed on short term lease. But I mentioned everything on my move-in inspection sheet and handed over a copy of that to the apartment management. I clearly mentioned in the move-in inspection sheet that Carpet has lot of stains, burnt, black spots, kitchen selves were not cleaned, cabinets were not cleaned, stoves, exhaust fan were not cleaned etc. Etc. After I moved out they said I will get my security deposit back in 3 weeks. After waiting for more than 5 weeks when I did not receive the check, I called them and they said I won't get my money back because the apartment was not cleaned and they refuse to honour the move-in inspection sheet. But truely speaking while moving out I handed over a much cleaned apartment than what I had received. I cleaned the kitchen and toilet properly before I moved out. My complaint against them is first of all they didn't gave me a cleaned apartment and now they are blaming that I didn't clean the apartment properly before move out and to clean the apartment they will not refund my $300 back. I never had such experience with any apartment management so far. They are simply lying and they should not cheat people like this. It's my hard earned money and I can not simply let it go like this. I want my $300 back ASAP. Note: The lease start date was 06-10 and I moved out on 10-29.
