My mother and I share a 2 bedroom apartment at royal palm apartments. The complex recently went under new ownership on or about December. The current owners ask for $850/mo. For a 2-bedroom apartment. Under the old ownership, i paid $975. My lease expired in March. Since then, I have, on 2 occasions, written to the new owners for a renewal of my lease, to include a rent reduction. I have not heard from anyone.
I did some investigating, and found out, in writing, that I am not the only tenant that pays a diffrent amount for rent. There are several other tenants that pay different amount for their apartments. It's as if, they are renting the apartments based on a person's income. And, that's not fair. All of the new tenants get the new rates $750 for 1-bedroom, $850 for 2-bedrooms.
I want something to be done about this. I don't have "move-in" money for anywhere else.
