I'm a recent widow. My husband of 30 years passed away from kidney cancer on 11/29/10 an left me a house in terrible need of repairs, especially the roof that started to leak in the kitchen area. I received a cold call from Northwest Redevelopment in Portland, OR. On 12/16 a man by the name of Harvey, Vice President Director of Marketing came out to my home and after all the measuring and inspection, he wrote me a bid and I signed on the dotted line. Harvey told me that a work crew would be to my home after the holidays around January 1st. Well no one showed up and my leak has gotten progressive worse. My calls and messages have not been returned so I'm sitting here with a signed contract and a leaking roof not knowing what to do next. I thought contractors have to honor signed contracts by law? I wanted a new roof but know I need a lawyer.
